Ah, November is here and after Halloween, we must do something with all those apples, so the best method is having a two year old peel them:





He really thought this was quite fun...loved how he told me to "just eat it" as he shoved it into my mouth.   Needless to say, two fun days with my grandson but today he is back to daycare.  However, I will pick him up for his Mommy around 3 so she can attend some meeting.

Observations On Growing Older

~Your Kids are becoming you...and you don't like them!

~Going Out is good.. Coming Home is better!

~You Forget names .... But it's OK because other people forgot they Even knew you!!!

~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything .... Especially Golf.

~Your spouse is counting on you to remember things you don't remember.

~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore.

~Your husband sleeps better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than he does in bed. It's Called " Pre-sleep".

~You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" Switch..

~You tend to use more 4 letter words .. "what?".... "when?"... ???

~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere.

~You notice everything sold in stores is "sleeveless" !!!!

~What used to be freckles are now liver spots.

~Everybody Whispers.

~Now that your husband has retired .. You'd give anything if he'd find a job!

~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet .... 2 of which you will never wear.

~~~But Old is good in some things: Old songs, Old movies, and best of all, OLD FRIENDS!!

Marching Band

I took this video yesterday while at the County Fair. I gotta admit, I was damn impressed with all the marching bands, they were awesome. And, it was my first time actually watching them perform. I had seen said bands line up for the parade many times but to sit in the stands and watch them perform was truly worthwhile and great fun...thanks Moonbeam!

Now, it was really fun to see so many folks, to have them actually remember me and tell me how wonderful I looked and in particular, no more stress on my face (damn, I had no idea while working my face showed stress marks!). It was also cute to see how much the youth had grown in two years, how confident they have become and the responsibilities they willingly accept today. Hey, it was all part of the "learn by doing"process and its great to see it working.

Thursday has all the signs of wanting to rain but so far nothing like that has happened. It's a cool 72 degrees and nice breeze blowing.

Well, more another day, keep smiling and remember this:

After 50 if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

Oh Just Watch

I know that we all are sick of the cold weather and want March to be the end of the winter madness. However we must face the reality that March does not mean warm weather – in fact, some of our worse weather has happened in March. Not a pleasant thought but a fact nonetheless.

So, we continue to find things to occupy our minds, brains, hands, feet and even our feeble imaginations. Hell we have read so many books our middle name is now “Library.” We have watched so much TV, they call us “boob tube” and it’s said affectionately and we nod in agreement. And while we packed on some extra pounds we insisted we were maintaining and “hey, anyone can say they wear a size 4, hear let me show you how to write that number on your ass.”

As for me I am experimenting with this YOUTUBE nonsense. Ph give me a break, it’s free, has no theme, no dialog and it gave me a little brain exercise and now you get to watch it too. What more do you want? It’s freakin cold outside….I ain’t standing out there waiting for you “in-house” clowns!

MARCH LION IS ROARING

It would seem that a massive late winter storm dumped more than a foot of snow in NJ Sunday and that idled hundreds of flights and is making today’s commute treacherous.

Storm warnings were also issued from North Caroline to New Hampshire, with most areas expected to see 8 to 12 inches of snow – holy sheet, this is serious stuff.

Ya this is the month that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb…well, this roar is being felt in some places and I suspect we shall get our roar real soon. Hell, we can’t be left out, now can we?

While all this is going on and we know winter is not done with us, my sister and I are making plans to head to Florida next month. It’s our annual escape and we go in April to insure the gulf coastal waters are warm enough to allow us the thrill of playing in the water.

This year we both intend to snorkel and with any luck, we shall convince our other sister, who lives in Florida to join in this fun too. Three of us teaching each other should be a laugh made in heaven and sure to get us plenty of unwanted attention.

We also hope to take a cruise to the Keys, spend a night there and come back to the Tampa area – what the hell, we like spreading our cheer as far as possible.

Tis a slow news day or blog day. I just went to "water" the granddog and man, that flippin wind is down right rude and brisk - brisk? Hell, it's just flippin ass cold. So I think I shall crank up the heat just a tad, fix my lunch, find a good book and settle in for an afternoon of reading and napping...what the hell, its Monday and I;m retired, I can do whatever I want, right?
